Kawakawa & Horopito Salt
This salt blend combines the fiery warmth of horopito (bush pepper) with the soothing, earthy flavour of kawakawa, mixed into pure New Zealand sea salt. The result? A naturally bold, peppery taste—like salt and pepper with a native twist.
What’s Inside?
Horopito (Pseudowintera colorata): A native pepperleaf with a spicy, warming bite
Kawakawa (Macropiper excelsum): A healing leaf with subtle bitterness and depth
NZ Sea Salt: Pure and mineral-rich, perfect for drawing out flavour
Tastes like:
A wild, earthy version of salt and pepper—great on roasted veges, steak, kūmara chips, eggs, seafood, or even sprinkled over avocado on toast.
How to Use:
Pop into a salt grinder and use just like you would regular salt and pepper. A little goes a long way!
Blended with aroha, using wild-harvested native rākau under tikanga Māori.
